ABOUT ODLTF

Our Dear Lady Of Tears Foundation

Our Lady of Tears Foundation was founded in Nigeria by Rev. Sr. Dr. Stephen Nnoruka and officially registered as a non-governmental organisation on 30th September 2019. The Foundation emerged from a profound calling to respond to the growing pain within families and communities affected by poverty, neglect, displacement, illness, and social exclusion.

Foundress

The Foundress carries a deep passion for the reform, healing, and reconstruction of wounded families, recognizing that when families are broken, entire communities suffer. Guided by faith, compassion, and service to humanity, the Foundation seeks to restore dignity, stability, and hope to those who have been pushed to the margins of society.

To bring this vision to life, Our Lady of Tears Foundation is committed to several core advocacies that address both immediate needs and long-term empowerment. Central to its work is the provision of scholarships and educational support for the poorest and most vulnerable children, ensuring that lack of finances does not deny them the right to learn, grow, and dream. Education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, and the Foundation places it at the heart of its mission.

In addition, the Foundation actively supports the care and empowerment of deprived persons, offering assistance that enables individuals and families to regain self-worth and economic independence. This includes skills development, access to hand work opportunities, and practical support that helps families make ends meet.

Provision for the Poor

The Foundation also reaches out to the most forgotten members of society by providing food and essential supplies to street fathers, mothers, and children, many of whom face daily hunger and homelessness. Through regular feeding programmes and compassionate engagement, the Foundation offers not only nourishment but also dignity and human connection.

Recognizing the need for mercy and hope in places of confinement, Our Lady of Tears Foundation extends pastoral care and support to prisoners, encouraging rehabilitation, healing, and reintegration into society. The Foundation further offers health care assistance and counselling services to mentally challenged persons, advocating for their well-being and inclusion, and ensuring they are treated with compassion and respect.

Humanitarian services

Over the years, these humanitarian services have touched many lives, bringing relief, encouragement, and renewed hope to individuals and families in crisis. The Foundation’s work is grounded in the belief that no one should be forgotten and that every life, regardless of circumstance, holds value and purpose.

Currently, Our Lady of Tears Foundation operates in Enugu and Anambra States, where its programmes continue to grow and make measurable impact. With a strong commitment to service and a vision for wider outreach, the Foundation hopes to expand its work to other parts of Nigeria and, in time, beyond national borders—responding wherever there is suffering, need, and a call for compassion.

Through faith in action and love in service, Our Lady of Tears Foundation remains dedicated to wiping away tears and building pathways to healing, hope, and lasting transformation.
